Neuros OSD media center adds YouTube support
Neuros Technology has announced that its OSD, a Linux-based open source embedded media center, now supports YouTube playback. The OSD costs $239.99.
The Neuros OSD is a set top box that connects your computer, television and stereo. Unlike other devices, Neuros depends on open source technology to power the system. It lets you record from DVD, TiVo, cable, camcorder and other sources, and play the video on your iPod, PlayStation Portable (PSP), smartphone or computer.
The YouTube browser has been released as a beta version. It lets you browse and play the entire YouTube video collection on any TV. Future releases will improve the user interface and add sharing, subscriptions and other features. The update is available for download from the Neuros Web site. Alternately, it’s also available using the device’s built-in updating feature.
